TheVicarageQuest

I have been absent from this world for a while. I am preparing to leave Missouri and head to Illinois for a year on a vicarage assignment. I am hoping through the nest year I will be more faithful in corresponding what is transpiring in Staunton through this medium.

Beloved Air Conditioning

I may sound trite. But I love sitting on this leather couch when it is 95 outside in Temperature and Humidity level. Am I being lazy? Yes, but it is a sweet, dry, cool laziness that will lead to a nap, or, even better, video games.

My Arm the Snake

I have woken myself up from sound sleep twice in the last two weeks the exact same way. I have been convinced that something was in bed with me that I though was a snake. I sleep on my right arm sometimes. Since I am a largish person when I do that, said appendage loses all blood circulatory action and passes out. When anything passes out it becomes dead weight, life-less and for the purposes of this entry, snake like.
Since I have been in Taiwan I have had run-ins with some of the more Venomous inhabitants, life the Speckled Cobra, Green Tree Viper, or Taiwanese Crate. Also I have noticed that whomever is responsible for hanging doors in this country, always leaves a gap large enough for any serpent to shimmy under. These two factors revolving around the fact the mice and vermin are commonplace sometimes leaves me a little wary of hanging my feet and arms over the edge of my bed.
So last night, I rolled over on top of my dead life-less snake like arm and sublimenally convinced myself that I was in bed with a humungus slithering bed pillow. After succefully Pommel Horsing my mattress and sticking the landing on my desk, I flipped on the light in search of the villian. After a few seconds I realized that the blood was re-sensatizing my right extremities. I put 2 and 2 together to get 5 and went back to sleep, but not before snapping a picture of the illusive beast. Enjoy.

Also...Here is my sweet Pencil box.

Work and Working

Baseball season is around the corner and I would have never thought about watching baseball for fun before I came to Taiwan. I did not like the game at all when I was six and tried to play, I would say I had not yet developed the right appreciation for the skill set involved in playing. Well I still have no appreciation, not because I am against baseball players completely, I just use them for their fantasy stats, thats all.
So come on Jose Reyes and David Wright lead those Mets to the Series. It all comes down to the draft order in my book. If I thought I had a chance at Ryan Howard or Albert Pujols, I would talk about them, but I never get the 1,2,3,4 guys in a draft, so I am hoping on Wright and Reyes being early round sleepers, I like my chances. I am going with young talent, hopefully snagging a superstar here or there, I only need one, and there are more than 20 in the draft. But each year is different.

Hanging around on the corner

I have a sweet new pencil box, I will put some pictures of it here later. The pencil box is something that has been serverly neglected in America by high school and college students. The Pencil box keeps pens and or pencils in one area with high levels of access depending on the amount of zippers on the container. If you do not have a pencil box, get one. They are certainly much more eye pleasing than a pocket protector.

Going Month to Month

I figure I can write just about anythign on here now. Because of the negligence that I have had in dealing with this site anymore as far as updates go. Well some things that have changed in the last 2 months. I have started playing the guitar and am getting pretty good at it. I have injured my knee again, and then been healed by God. I really thought I was never going to be able to do anything again. But somehow, I was healed. I am still in love. I am going to, hopefully, be a full time student again next year. I will be living in St. Louis. I just bought a new Cleveland hi-Bore in hopes of cutting a few strokes from my game.
Peace.
